Nearby places
A short drive to the North brings you to the ancient castle town of Silves, formerly the capital of the region. Silves has many small cobbled streets to explore with local shops and some excellent restaurants whilst a visit to the castle itself is a must.
A little further to the North are the Monchique hills and nature reserve with delightful forests and stunning views.
A long walk along the beach (or a short drive) brings you to Armação da Pera, one of the oldest fishing villages in the Algarve but now developed as a tourist destination with shops, cafes, excellent seafood restaurants and bars.
